I just got hold of the Alexis Korner Memorial Concert 3-CD set, and it's yet another enjoyable performance from Jack. On a different subject, does anyone know what Clem Clempson is doing these days? I remember hearing that he was touring with Jack a few years ago, and then he did the Colosseum reunion thing, but I have not heard anything in the last year or so.

I cannot believe that tonight's (4/2/2000) "60 Minutes" program w/Eric Clapton interview named Jeff Beck and not Jack Bruce as a member of Cream. Now that IS news! I think Beck is great, but Jack is greatest.

Hello Mr. Jack Bruce, I'm a big fan, but everyone says that. I am looking for "Live And Kickin'" but can not find a CD or cassette copy anywhere in San Francisco. So I was wondering if I could buy a copy from you. I would take a cass. copied from record or tape. Or if you could a CD copy new, used, or burned from another source. In any case I wold gladly pay up front for this. "Power House Sod" is how I really knew I wanted to be a bassist in stead of a 6-gun strummer. Thank you and please help, if you can. M. Congrats on a great site. Disappointing that Jack Bruce couldn't get here for the Ultimate Rock Symphony, but probably for the best - the whole idea of that sounds terrible anyway. (It died in the arse by the way). Would have been good to see him doing his thing though. With Ringo is one thing, but why not a tour in its own right? Mr. Bruce is very respected down here and could play a low key intimate tour or a larger venue thing. Think about it Jack. We'll all be there!!

It's not just that Jack Bruce is the world's greatest bass player, a brilliant all-round musician and a stunning vocalist - he was also the man who single-handedly liberated the bass guitar. Let's hope younger people and future generations get to realise the revolutionary effect he had on the way all music is now played, regardless of the band they're listening to. - M&L.

I've been looking at a portable minidisc system that I could record the show with. I also have a video cam.

Is it legal for me to record the show ?

I don't want to get into trouble.

Looking so forward to seeing Jack at the Beacon Theatre next month. We just checked out the Ringo site again for info on Jack Bruce. The tour schedule goes up til July 1. What a thrill it will be when the tour dates finally include Oz. Judging by the response in JB's Guestbook, it certainly indicates that Jack has a ton of loyal fans in Oz who would love to see him do some solo performances as well. - M&L.

I have seen Jack in concert six times and was fortunate to meet him in 1989 in Philadelphia. It was an incredible experience to stand next to and chat with a musician whom I have considered to be a legend in his own time. At the time I had been following his career since 1967. I told him that his latest work 'A Question of Time' was incredible and his best work since 'Out of the Storm'. He was quite humble as he thanked me and was more than willing to sign an autograph "To Bob...Jack Bruce." I also had occasion to meet Janet Godfrey at one of Jack's 1977 Bottom Line shows, but that's another story. Anyway, does anyone know where one might find a copy of West, Bruce and Laing's "Live and Kickin' CD/cassette and their 'Whatever Turns You On' CD/cassette? Is there anyone else out there who feels that "Pollution Woman" and "Out Into the Fields" are incredibly beautiful pieces of music? I feel Jack's work with WB&L was incredible and I am amazed that these works are so difficult, if not impossible to find. Thanks Jack for ALL the great music through the years. You are #1!!! BC

Hello Ryan Meehan and Marc Wickert. The album referred to is, I think, 'Knights of the Blues Table'. Viceroy 54189-2. Distributed by WEA and Lightyear Entertainment. HIGHLY recommended not just for Jack Bruce but some great music. Listen to Miller Anderson's rendition of 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' and the rest. Viceroy's e-mail is Vroy@aol.com and also AR052762@aol.com The website is http://www.aol.members/Vroy.com I hope all that is still current and a help to you. I got it off the back of my copy of the album. There is a part 2 apparently, but I haven't heard that yet nor do I know who is on it. Cheers.

With the number of loyal fans Jack Bruce has in Oz, he's going to need to play at some big venues to cater for the crowds. In Sydney he could play out WEST at Homebush, in Canberra he could play at BRUCE Stadium and in Queensland he could play at LAING Park. West, Bruce and Laing, now that has a ring to it - M&L.

Great site. Longtime Jack Bruce fan. Somebody needs to do something about getting all of Jack's old solo stuff re-released. My apt was broken into a bit ago and all of my precious Jack Bruce discs were taken. Ugh... Have had absolutely no luck finding any of them other then "Songs For A Tailor". I had them all and am really pretty brken up about the loss. Lost a Japanese import of the old Atco "History of EC" which doesn't seem replaceable either. Glad to see that Jack will be touring with Ringo again. Saw him here in Mpls a couple of years ago and was thoroughly impressed with the show. Echoing the sentiments of a earlier respondent, how about a solo tour in this part of the country? Take care.

I went to the Ringo Tour site to see if I could order tickets for the final show of the US tour. Wisconson is close enough for me to drive to and it coincides with the beginning of my vacation. Even though I couldn't find out there how to order the tickets I was very pleased to discover a good bio of Jack. I didn't know that Jack and Tony Williams were close to forming a group with Jimi Hendrix. It makes me sick to think of the fine music that collaboration might have born. Jimi and Jack together is the stuff that dreams are made of. I used to think I would have liked to have heard Jimi and John Coltrane together. If anyone else finds that concept appealing I suggest you pick up a copy of Ask The Ages with Pharoah Sanders, Elvin Jones, Charnet Moffett, and Sonny Sharrock. Charnett Moffett is great on bass, Sonny is "out there" on guitar, Pharoah Sanders is powerful on Tenor and Elvin Jones is arguably the best jazz drummer of all time.

Peace and Love

Joseph

Happy Easter to Jack Bruce and all the JB fans we've met on this site. It's Easter Monday here, but it should be Easter Sunday everywhere else. We've been listening to A Question Of Time a lot lately. No track seems to reveal the rich, dark timber of Jack's soul more than his vocals on Only Playing Games. What a gem that song is! And there's no other person on the planet who could have done that track. Best wishes - M&L.

Jack has always been my favorite bassist bar none. When I was a wee lad I would buy his solo albums when all my friends only wanted to listen to the Cream records. His collaborations with Pete Brown are of course my favorites. I was fortunate to be able to work with Jack on the "Jack Bruce and Friends" tour in support of the "I've always wanted to do this" album. I was Jack and Clem's roadie in the fall/winter of 1980. Presently I'm a professional piano technician on the road w/ Ryuichi Sakamoto. I love Jack's playing on "MonkJack" and would love another opportunity to work with Jack as a pianist. Jack, if you're reading this, please contact me sometime. I can't wait to hear the new material

I just stumbled across your site Jack, and I like what I've seen so far! You are one of my favorite bass players, and being a drummer myself, I can always sympathize with a comrade in rhythm!! A quick question: When you played St. Louis on 21/11/88 did you by chance go clubbing and catch a group by the name of Cross Town Traffic? I was drummer in the group, and somebody said you came in during our set, and actually LIKED our version of Sunshine of Your Love! Can you shed some light on this? I know 12 years is a long time memory- wise, but I'd like to know if I played before one of the greats, and didn't know it!!!! Thanks, and keep up the excellent work!

i have seen and listened to JB's live concerts three times.the last one he played the "bis" at Pistoia blues festival with Jeff Healey band:he went out on stage dressing only underwear while someone gave to Jeff's bassist a jumbo acoustic guitar making him sitting on the very bottom of the stage alone.I miss JB concerts! Please Jack play in Europe! I wait for a tour list!!!!

I got to see my idol, Jack, last night at Westbury. Always enjoy Sunshine, White Room, and I Feel Free even after hearing it 100,000 times. Especially love hearing Jack doing songs from Eric Carmen and Dave Edmonds. A fantastic bass and an incredible voice from a great man:Jack Bruce. I'm still anticipating seeing Jack with his own band again. It's been a while!

Belated Happy Birthday, Jack. Same day as my son Eric. Saw the All-Starr's a couple of nights ago in Salem. Excellent show, but have to say that nobody on stage looked particularly up. Perhaps due to the piss-poor turnout. I was shocked to see so many empty seats. It was only when you broke into Sunshine of Your Love that the place and the band seemed to come alive. You are definitely the Starr of the band...sorry Ringo. I've had the pleasure of seeing you twice before, once on long Island (My Father's Place) and once in Orlando (with Ginger). Both shows were phenomenal. We must get you back out touring with your own band soon. Peace and good health to you.

Iwas at Sunday's show in New Hampshire. Mr Bruce was great. I've seen him twice before: Boston during Cream's 1st US tour (Psychedelic Supermarket) and the old Back Bay Theatre on the night Martin Luther King was shot. The two prior posts were excellent and very thought provoking.

When you think about who these guys are, Ringo,Jack Bruce and Company -- they have had such a tremendous influence on our lives. I was just a kid when I first started listening to the Beatles and it was such an exciting and magical experience in my life and the lives of all my fiends. What a time in ones life --- my first girlfriend, high school graduation, starting out on your own away from Mom and Dad for the first time...

You don't forget these things and the Beatles and Cream were all a part of it..

I've been priviledged to see Mr. Bruce with West Bruce and Laing at the Orpheum theatre in Boston. I also saw him with Billy Cobham up at a club in Lynn. Mass. Both shows were really great...better than great.... and brother, there is only one Jack Bruce in this world.

I'm really grateful for their hard work and dedication in bringing these wonderful musical experiences into our lives.

God Bless.

PS.. Billy Cobham did a drum clinic not to long ago at the Guitar Center in Boston. Great drummer.

Take Care.

Recently saw Jack in Atlantic City N.J. on opening night with the All Stars Band on May 12,2000. Jack was phenomenal,(as always),and a good time was had by all. There were some shouting requests from the back (White Room),in which Jack so happily delivered. Also was heard: "Jack, you know we love you!" He sang and played his heart out for us!

Since Jack is probably busy getting ready to tour if it hasn't already begun, I will probably wait a while for an answer to this question but I am compelled to ask nevertheless. I raised the concept of a possible collaborator with Jack in The Joni Mitchell Fan Club on Yahoo. I am a co-founder of that club. No one else seems to see the rich musical possibilities of a collaboration between Jack and Joni. I think it would be wonderful since each have such a broad range of musical perspective from which to draw and each is fearless in their persuit of musical fruition.

Jack, if you read this, what do you think?

Other readers of this post, what do you think as well?

Hello Jack! Let me just say that you are the man! I've followed your career for about 15 years now and had the great fortune to be able to see you play live at the Bayou in D.C. with Ginger Baker and Blues Saraceno. You all rocked the house down. I was in the front row with my friend cheering as loud as I could. I just saw you play in Ringo's All Starr Band at Wolf Trap on May 30, 2000 and your renditions of Theme For An Imaginary Western, Sunshine of Your Love, and White Room were just fabulous! You really went out on a limb with your bass improv and I really enjoyed that. The last album I bought of yours was Something Els, so I need to catch up. Anyway, I am a bass player, too, and I hope you don't get offended when I say that i sometimes cop your licks, but hey, that's why we musicians exist, right? To learn from each other and grow? Well, I look forward to your next solo effort. All the best to you Jack!

Hi Jack! I just wanted to tell you that you all did a fine job at the concert in Norfolk ( at that puny NorVa theatre) on May 26. It was my first concert and I ended up standing right in front of where you were -- it was awesome!! I am 16 years old and a huge classic rock fan and I was more than pleased with the rock and roll you guys generated -- especially that bass player!!! You have a true gift and I was glad to be the girl that received a wink from such a legendary rocker as yourself. ( You MAY remember me -- I was the only one there with a poster) None the less, I am definitely going to be listening to a lot more Cream music from now on... Thanks for all the inspiration. Yes there is a God! I recently found my original vinyl recordings of 'Harmony Row', 'Songs For A Tailor', 'Things We Like' (yes, I said Things We Like), and West, Bruce, and Laing's 'Whatever Turns You On' which I thought were trampled and burned by my "ex". I now have to go out and purchase a turntable. (Do they still make them?). Can anyone sell a copy of WB&L's 'Live 'n Kickin'? Peace and Love to you all. Jack, thanks for your latest entry in the diary; it's kind of you to take the time to acknowledge your incredibly loyal fans. I agree with the notion that you were largely responsible for the incredible music that Cream produced, you wrote two-thirds of the material (at least) and Eric Clapton himself acknowledged in a Rolling Stone interview about 10 years ago that you were 'The Man'-"a musician's musician" I believe was the way he described you (which was a very classy thing to do on his part). Please get that new disc out and please find a way to get your earlier solo works re-released on CD -we will buy them! God Bless, Bob C. (It's Jack's world and we all just hang out in it) Thanks to Derek for a fabulous site!

I saw Jack there with Ringo about a year ago as well and to see the guy twice now is a thrill I'll never forget. God bless ya for writing White Room and thanks for waving to me when I yelled to you Saturday night as you got into the courtesy van Keep coming back with Ringo! See ya soon, I hope! Pauly

To Penney Leeper, and anyone else interested in obtaining tablature of Cream's songs. I have in my possession a copy of "Eric, Jack & Ginger: The Cream Complete" which contains tablature and chord diagrams for twenty of Cream's best works. In the interest of keeping these classics alive and turning on the next generation to what REAL rock music was (is), contact me and I will try to make available whatever copies I can. Let me know specific songs. (I don't know if this violates any publishing laws and if this would meet with Jack's approval- so if anyone has any info regarding these matters please let me know). I believe there is some time limit on music publishing rights anyway.) To Jack: You remain my favorite musician; your music continues to inspire; and now my son is discovering your music which brings me great joy! You have been the most under-rated musician of our time (not by your fans of course- this site is testament to that!) Your music touches the Soul and that quality is so rare today. Thank you for taking the time to chat with me in 1990 after the gig in Philadelphia (and for the autograph, I wouldn't trade it for Chopin's! Best wishes for continued success in all your work. God Bless, Bob Clayton, Bordentown, NJ USA

Dear Jack,

I performed with you in 'The Tooth of Crime'in London in 1987 at the Bridge Lane Theatre Club - your first acting experience and my first singing experience. Thanks for your encouragement. You were such a trooper hanging in there with the conditions. I am married to a bass player who has an album with Jim Morrison's son Cliff Morrison: the cd is called 'Know Peaking' and availble through BMG-Europe. Would like to see your House of Blues LA performance with Ringo, alas, we just opened a new office and funds are tight. Email if you can. Ta, Leslie.

Hello!

I'm huge fan of Jack Bruce although I'm a gutarist. His style is amazing and an insperation for guitarists. I have followed the music by Jack from the time before Cream to this day. I play in a band where the basist is a even bigger fan (!) of Jack. For his last birthday I bought the instruction-video for him. Whar I would love to give him this time is a realsized print of Jacks hand with an autograph on it or by it. Is this possible to get/buy? It would mean so very very much to him. His name is also Fredrik.

Many thanks Best regards

Hi Jack! I'm a lifelong fan of your work. I was a young teenager during the Cream period, but I was so struck by your songs and your singing that I followed your career for years! I thought "Songs for a Tailor" was a great record, right up there with Cream's best work, as well as "Harmony Row" (a fabulous colection of songs and music which is unfortunatly not currently available on Cd-I have a good vinyl copy, though!) I remember seeing your name in an early post-Cream "Hit Parader" article on "The Tony Williams Lifetime"...I knew nothing about jazz drumming, or Tony, or John McLaughlin with the wacked out short haircut. But I remembered both of their names and later became huge fans of both of their work! (For this "broadening" I owe you thanks!) I enjoyed you and John on "Escalator Over The Hill"; I enjoyed you and Billy Cobham on "I've Always Wanted...", and of course, I keep an eye open for your name on various projects. I remember going to a used record store, buying an old Larry Coryell album, and there was an instrumental version of your Harmony Row song "Can you Follow"...Great! I just want to communicate to you what a fine musician you are, and how satisfying your work has been to me for roughly 34 years now! You are an inspiration, and I listen to you when I want quality music...your "rock" material is absolutly on par with the best Lennon/McCartney stuff, and Jack, that ain't shabby! I would love to meet you face to face sometime and talk about music theory, life, etc.; just stuff. I feel like I know you through your work! Regards, Estel.

Dear Mr. Bruce, Hello! I simply want to express my appreciation for the beautiful music you have given us over the years. I am especially a fan of your former band, Cream. My heart melted when I first heard the song "Sunshine of Your Love". The way you blended romanticism with brilliant musicianship is incomparable. I admit, I have not followed your solo career as closely, but you have always been my favorite. I so look forward to seeing you in concert someday. Thank you for your wonderful website and for the rare privilege of being able to send this message to you so easily. Love & Blessings to You and Yours! Your greatest fan, Elisia

Hello Jack and fellow Jack fans!

I have a little news that may be of interest to you. I have updated the Jack Bruce page on my music web site adding more links and album covers. I also created what I was surprised to discover is the only Jack Bruce club on Yahoo. The link to my page is as follows http://www.geocities.com/joseph_1949/Home3.html From there you can click on the link to the Yahoo Club Jack Bruce Cities of the Heart

Jack would you consider authorizing this club to be an official Jack Bruce fan club? I would be honored if you would agree. Thanks for your great music throughout the years. I am hoping to be able to see the July 1st show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Peace and love,

Joe

We left Oz five weeks ago for New York City to see the world's greatest bass player - Mr. Jack Bruce, play live for the first time. Like a lot of other people we'd been fans since the mid sixties. At the Beacon Theatre Dave Edmunds, Eric Carmen, Simon Kirke and Mark Rivera all displayed superb musicianship & Dave Edmunds was more than capable on lead guitar - even doing accoustic solo renditions of Mason & William's Classical Gas and Lady Madonna. After waiting about thirty five years to finally see your hero Live, your eyes just fill with tears when the guy who's brought so much happiness into your life, for so much of your life, finally appears on stage in front of you. It was a thrill to witness Jack perform Sunshine Of Your Love and I Feel Free, but when Jack sat at the keyboard and was joined by special guest, Andy Summers, to deliver Theme From An Imaginery Western, this was truly a magical moment. Let's hope we get to see Jack and Andy do more work together. Later in the show, Jack whipped out an incredible version of White Room with a bass solo that only the world's greatest bass player could do. We were stunned! It was like a dream come true for us to meet Jack Bruce after the concert - he is such a warm and witty guy, but the real thrill was to see him look so healthy and happy. Thanks for everything, Jack - Marc & Lorraine.

Whilst having seen Cream 3 times in their brief existence and appreciating the brilliant contribution of our hero, please you fans don't forget all Jack's wonderful solo albums. The guestbook tends to hark back often to the days of Cream but remember Jack is still pushing music to the frontiers NOW. He deserves more encouragement for the more recent albums and certainly promoters should get the lad booked for more tours which represent his solo work. The piano/organ gig at the Queen Elizabeth was really epic!! Keep on keeping on Jack!! Happy Birthday - here's to the next 50 odd!

As Leslie West once said before "Powerhouse/S.O.D.", "on bass, the greatest in the world, JACK BRUCE!"

Jack, thank you for your talent: You've been an inspiration to me with my own bass playing and both your music and style have reignited my interest in playing bass--at a critical time when I was growing weary of playing bass.

Keep that Warwick busy and I hope to actually get to one day see you perform live!

"Songs For A Tailor" is still one of the best albums ever and I often put it on at night to listen to as I fall asleep. It was astonishing when it first came out and has not dimmed one bit. I always thought Jack was the BEST bassist - period.

Lets all appreciate the awesome presence and musical virtuosity that has enabled the man to slot chameleon-like into any band with seamless dexterity. Its time, long overdue for the young musicians of today who wander aimlessly into styles forced upon them by the commercially driven market place to revisit the musical legacy left behind in the wake of such greats as Jack Bruce. I will never tire of listening. Mick...

I'm delighted that so many people are enjoying the current All Star tour. What a great way to start the year 2000.

Say if you want to have some fun, listen to two tracks Jack did with Leslie West :

1. The Rock 'n' Roll Machine 2. Token

These songs are from the second album of West Bruce and Laing called Whatever Turns You On.

What a gas !!!! Its Outrageous !!!!

There was no band in the world like West,Bruce and Laing. It reamins my favorite.

These songs really convey a sense of the spirit of 1973. (which seems just like yesterday)

Saw Ringo's All-Star Band 6/8 in Chicago. It was a most excellent show, Ringo was a major cut-up, Dave Edmunds is cool and the Free and Bad Company songs presented by Simon Kirke were wonderful. Best of all was Jack Bruce. It appeared that he acted as Muscical Director for the entire event and truely enjoyed the proceedings.

I actually took my son to the concert as part of his birthday present, he's 14 and a huge Beatles Fan. He enjoyed, plus got a pretty good eyeful from some female fan activities in the audience.

But I digress, I probably wouldn't have been as willing to go to this show if Jack hadn't been in the band. House of Blues is a small venue, so we were very close. It was great and Jack didn't disappoint. The supporting cast was somewhat bizzare, but they sounded good. Jack approached his segments with enthusiasm. The versions of "I Feel Free", "Sunshine of Your Love" and "White Room" were anything but throw-aways. The solo version of "Theme From an Imaginary Western" was absolutely awesome. My son said, "Wow, Dad, that's a cool song!". The other folks around us kept asking "What's that Song?".

Another very cool thing was Jack's support of the other artists. Singing harmony/lead on Beatles songs, playing most excellent boogies piano on Dave Edmunds song and doing a way better than credible job of performing the Andy Fraser parts of Free's "Alright Now".

All in all, I enjoyed the show much more than I would have guessed. My only questions is why was Eric Carmen there?

Happy summer to all.

The world desperately needs a Jack Bruce box set. Not just to chronicle the classic stuff (personally, I would have to include _Harmony Row_, one of the ten greatest LPs to come out of rock music, in its entirety), but the huge volume of scattered Jack performances. What a career! Jack is quoted in the Cream box set as saying he "envisoned being some kind of Mozart" growing up. I think he succeeded. Playing, singing, writing -- Jack and Brian Wilson stand head and shoulders above their peers as the greatest talents to have come out of rock music.

It's also time, I think, for another Jack Bruce Band tour. The shows with Blues Saraceno on guitar were great -- especially when Jack got to play piano on "Can You Follow" and "Imaginary Western." Nothing beats seeing Jack in a small club, playing a set that gives equal weight to old and new, to blues / rock and art / rock. Hearing Jack play "Morning Story" with Kip Hanrahan remains one of the happiest moments of my life.

Dear Jack

This is just to say how I was wandering round Edinburgh today and for some reason "theme from an imaginary western" popped into my head, I then went on to day dream about way SFAT and Harmony Row caught my imagination. The lyrics were "weird" (what do you expect from Pete Brown, poet and visonary !!) but it was the chords that struck me and the way the music had tension and release.

It was thanks to that introduction that Imanaged to negotiate the path from Heavy Rock/Blues to Jazz. Although it was some time before "Things we like" registered (if it ever did).

I could go on about the fantastic "Timepiece".

But - what happened to Mick Taylor (he was no John McLaughlin but did have a sense of melody if not harmony).

Also - why was "Without a Word" (one of the greatest "love" songs ever written) not included on the OGWT CD - I know you did it beacuse I still have the reel to reel tape made by taping the mike to my parents TV speaker - happy days indeed.

Finally - I was very sorry to hear of your son's death from asthma. I am a fellow sufferer and dedicated 12 years of my life to research better ways of treatment/prevention. Clearly we have a lot of work to do.

jack - your creativity and passion have had a huge influence on my musical development and you play a major role in my, fondly recalled, teenage years.

Keep up the good work

Bye for now

Couldn't agree with Eric M. Van that a Jack Bruce box set is long overdue! I also agree that 'Harmony Row' is one of the greatest works by any musician in any genre. I am also happily suprised to see that there are so many fans of Jack's work with West, Bruce, and Laing. I was fortunate to catch their December 1972 show at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. I was 15 years old and Jack was already my favorite musician. That show in Phillie remains among my favorite memories of my lost youth. 'Out of the Storm', 'Pollution Woman', 'Victoria Sage', 'To Isengard', 'Like a Plate', 'November Song', and the rest of Jack's incredible volume of work deserves to be heard (again!). Can we all start some kind of lobby or something to get some record company to get all these works re-released? It seems quite ludicrous that one can find 'The Monkees' CDs but not Jack Bruce's work. Something is seriously amiss. Jack Bruce is simply the single most under-rated musician of our time. Period. (But WE know that).

Just thought I'd add this little side note to my entry of 6-18. To jog your memory, I interviewed you in your hotel room after the show. Clem was present. One thing that sets me apart and makes me easy to remember is that I am a wheelchair user. I previously had played drums and backing vocals with Bob Seger, '73-77 and had performed on 4 albums. My becoming disabled in a car accident was the reason for leaving that situation. Hope to hear from you!

Dear jack, To say that Marc and Lorraine Wickert are fans of yours is truly an understatement. I think by virtue of the fact that they saved up and flew over to see you in the US from Australia speaks volumes and re-inforces the view that you have one large supporter base here in OZ. I have been in contact with Marc and he has kindly agreed to send a photo of your meeting at the Beacon Theatre. With fans like them in this world it must give you a very warm feeling to know that your music is so well appreciated all over. I hope you are still comming over to OZ later this year, if not with Ringo then with your own band. All the best, Phil.

1. the discography lists an album called "Lifetime" (1975). I can't find this listed in any reference. I can find "Turn It Over" and "Ego", however. Info please. 2. What's the story about Jack not being credited in any of the notes on "Ego"?

This is a hard work to me. To write in english... I am a great fan of "Cream", specially of Jack Bruce. I am the lead vocal and the bass player of a "trio", and I have learned so much of the Cream's music and the way that Jack plays the bass guitar. I would like to make a contact (someday...) with J.B., but I don't know who is reading my message now, and who is going to answer me. This page is OK, but I am afraid that nobody wants to write me back.

Please sorry for my english, I do my best.

Thank you.

P.S.: I am 27 years old. My music is on Cd and mp3...

Hi Joe Barbarotta, We picked up a copy of The Tony Williams Lifetime CD "Ego" and the cover only lists Jack Bruce as having contributed vocals on track 5 (Two Worlds). We also checked out Jack's NEWS on Rope Ladder and didn't see any mention of Jack's tour of Oz or his new CD. Hope it just means Derek is dozing in Cuicoland and forgot to add them to the site. -M&L.

Dear Mr Bruce,

I am looking forward to seeing and hearing you tomorrow night with Ringo's mob. It's been a long time since I've seen you in person - 1972? with West, Bruce and Lang in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I saw you before that with Cream in Miami at the baseball stadium and it was perhaps the most exciting concert nights of my life. As a bassplayer (retired), you were a hugh influence on me.

Much time has passed since then. A lot of water under the bridge. Now I have a 13 year old son, who took up the bass a couple of years ago, and I now have the priviledge of taking him to see you at just about exactly the same age I was when I first saw you in 1968. Such a nice piece of symetry, don't ya think? He's really quite talented, and has been studying URB with Richard Davis. I've tried to make sure he doesn't make that he listens to many, many types of music but when he started showing interest in playing bass, as far as I was concerned, there was only place to start. You.

Thanks for all the wonderful music and memories throughout the years. I don't you'll read this at all or if you'll see it before tomorrow night, but if you do, look for us - we'll be the old man and kid rocking out right in front of you at Milwaukee's Summerfest.

Derek, A really great site, I enjoyed going through it. I was surprised to see no mention of the 89-90 tour where Jack reunited with Ginger, partially because I was Jack's Road Manager on that tour and It brings back a lot of memories for me. If Jack keeps in touch and is interested in the feedback and the guestbook, please give hime my warmest regards... I was proud to work for such a great player and was also proud to call him Friend. Jack,

Your music was so important to me as a young man in college then in the Army and Viet Nam. I remember when I was in basic training, the Army post I was on had a recreation center, guitars were available to the men. Every guy that picked up a guitar, white guys, black, country or city cats, they all knew Sunshine of Your Love.

It's hard to beieve how the time has passed, I'm still rocking.
