Jack Bruce is an outstanding bass player, but I think calling him "God" is pushing it. Les Claypool is the man when it comes to bass. I'm a huge Cream fan, and would love see a reunion sometime soon.

jack's dedication to music first and formost, for the shear enjoyment of it, has always been an inspiration to me. Particularly after seeing Jack with Ringo, I was moved by just how much *fun* everyone both on stage and off was having. And *that* is what it is about.

the fact that he's a brilliant player and composer and vocalist helps too ...

Jack Bruce is IT. Period. I was about 9 when I heard Sunshine on the radio for the first time, and I was blown away...."What is that sound?" This was through a cheap one speaker AM radio too!!! My first experience with IT. Spent every day of my life since chasing IT. Bought a Gibson bass, bought Hartke amps, just bought a fretless. Gotta find IT. How do you do IT Jack?? I'm 42 now...still chasing IT. Bought every album of yours I can find. Hear IT all the time. Still can't do IT though. Probably never quite will. But sometimes, for just a second, I come close to IT. Be like Mike? nah....Play like Jack!! Now you're talking!!! You're the best sir. You're my Ellington, my Jaco, and when Pete's hot, my Dylan too. I'll probably never have IT Jack. But I thank God you do.

Dear Fans, I managed recently to get JB"Live on test...", JB "Slab boys soundtrack", "R&B at Abbey road", "Bernis Marsden "About time too" and all CDs with Duffy Power and JB. I have heard of 4 CD pack being prepared by same Bill Levenson solely with JB stuff. It is high time we got JB "Harmony row " on CD and others as well. I think the most liked thing in JB is his voice anyway which was of superb kind between 1966 and 1981 ; that is why his records from that time are classic. Also recent CDs from CMP

Jack Bruce has been my inspiration since I started playing bass 23 years ago. NO BODY pushes the envelope like him. The fearless joy and enthusiasm in which he attacks a song is breathtaking. His command of the dynamics of a song set him heads above anyone else. When I get down about the malaise and predictable pap that is passed off as music these days I always turn to him for reassurance that there are still real musicians out there. Nothing like queing up the live "Spoonfull" or "Clearout" to get your motor running! It's very heartwarming that this site exists so Jack can know how much his fans appreciate him!!!!

i recently saw an eric clapton interview in a guitar magazine .The 1993 reunion seems to have unnerved him ,BECAUSE to say he was touchy about his CREAM past would be an understatement,He would be quite happy i am sure to have Greatest hit packages out with titles like Cream of Eric Clapton rather than show a reunion could be a viable option,he was clearly flustered by the idea that people saw his career as nothing more a sideline or a shadow of his cream days,But the sad old cunt would not even hold his hands up.and admit it.so go out and buy his solo album and keep him from really extend his talents, enuff sed!

Though I was a Cream fan, I really got into Jack Bruce when I picked up 'Harmony Row' for $2.78 or so in high school. I was lucky enough to hear the first couple tracks in a stereo store right after it came out. Months later I had some spare change and picked it up and it's been a BIG favorite ever since. Great record. I've got just about all of Jack's stuff since. Why in the world isn't Polydor manufacturing that CD anymore? I got mine but no one else can buy it! Can't wait to hear the Whistle Test record.

BTW this is a great idea for a web page.

Derek, I have admired your work on the web for a number of years now, and visit your variouse sights numerouse times a month. I must say, it must be a great honor to be the one chosen to make the Jack Bruce page! I was inspired from your pages to make pages of my own. Some of my work with powerpoint will soon be featured on the Abraxas High School (my school)'s web sight. You may want to check out a page that I, as well as one of my friends, have been working on. It is to promote my friend's band (who are cream fans too!). http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/amphitheatre/5003/page1.html If possible, I would like to contact Jack. As a fan of his, I am also a musician long inspired by his work with Cream and the Grahm Bond Organization, as well as his work since the break up of Cream. -FAB44EVER2@aol.com

I have enjoyed Jack's music for the last 30+ years. I have had the pleasure of seeing him almost everytime he came to Chicago. In fact, the first rock concert that I went to was the Jack Bruce Band at the Ivanhoe Theatre. I can still remember the first time I heard Jack sing "Politician". I hope Jack tours the US soon, and brings Gary Moore along for the tour.

Do you if their are any plans to reissue Jack's CD "Out Of The Storm"? this is the only major Jack Bruce CD that I am missing from my Jack Bruce collection?

I have engoyed the music of Jack Bruce for thirty one years.

I have a queastion for Jack regarding a show he did at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY in the late 80's, while touring with Ginger Baker. In the audience was what I felt, a look a like of Eric Clapton, my wife thought it was him, as well as some of the audience. Jack did you put this person up to this, during the show you did make remarks about Clapton. Second why would you have wanted to play with him? He really hasn't done anything worthwhile after Cream and your solo material was superior to Cream anyway. We all know Cream was Jack Bruce.

Thank you for the great music you produced over the years.

Ever since I saw Jack play at Ronnie Scotts Birmingham, I knew that this guy was totally tops and there is no-one on the face of the earth that can match him as a bassist, composer etc...

How can I describe that gig? - Other than his personality filled the place! I even took a mate who didn't like Jacks' music - consequently, he does now!

Oh yeah, he also made me switch to playing fretless bass too! - Totally awesome!

First, believe it or not, but Jack Bruce has been an incredible influence on my GUITAR playing!! Its not what the man plays, but how he plays it - with so much freedom, energy, and confidence. He's so much more than a bass player...great musicians are great musicians!! Second, I'm wondering what other people think about great musicians? What makes them great? Is there an aesthetic standard of sorts? Is it a technical capacity (I don't think so), or somethin els? I'd love to read anyone's thoughts.

JackÕs DiscographyJack appeared with considerable effect om 'Mike Gibbs" a Deram recording from 1970. This featured in the main contemporary big-band jazz. It featured such luminaries as John Surman, Alan Skidmore, Ray Warleigh, Chris Spedding, Ray Russell, John Marshall and Tony Oxley. I think unfortunately it has been deleted but I have it on somewhat scratched vinyl. I can give more details if anyone is interested. Its a bloody good album.Scotland for the world cup?!?

Hi Jack,

Are you really personally receiving this email? I hope so, because this message is really to YOU....

If not, it would be GREAT if whoever is managing Jack's mail would print this out and give it to him. 30 years of loyal fandom oughtta be worth SOME communication with this talented but still equal earthling!

I've been a fan since, well, Cream.

Saw U a few times w/various bands. IF you respond, I will tell you about my interesting experiences seeing Jack Bruce from the standpoint of a Southern California music fan.

I play keys in a band called Blue Dot. We are a very 60's-nfluenced '90's type outft. We do mostly originally originals , but one of our cover songs is "Jumpng Off th Sun," which isn't yours, but somehow reminds me of U.

Anyway, "Jumping" sounds great when Emily, our 21-year-old vocalist, puts her Velvet Throat to it.

MONKJACK ROCKS. You needed this change of scenery. CITIES OF THE HEART had to happen, but clemson (or moore) ain't no clapton. I'm glad U did it and I'm hopin that itprovided closure essential to the emergence of the UTTERLY COOL NEW PHASE!

I know that you're gettin older (as are we all), but JUST KEEP BEING JACK BRUCE and you'll keep being gifted.

Don't ever forget, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

I hope it come to L.A. soon!

And hey, tell Ringo to ROCK! %^D
