I had found the music of the nineties to be very unsatisfactory, so I turned to the past. First I discovered Hendrix, which eventualy led me to Cream. Ever since, have been hooked to finding more great music and more information of such bands of the 60's. This page was an excellent source. I hope to find and learn as much as I can to keep me away from the propagandulus ninties.(is that a word?.. well it sounds cool anyway)

Derek Please let me know if you got a copy of Master series by Graham Bond allegedly released in UK by Polydor in May with 18 classic. Icemagazine announced that on August 3, 1999 small US label Renaissance Jack Bruce concert classics will be rleased from live in 80s. Any feedback.? Also the rumours were that Ringo is preparing 3CD box with his allstars. To finish I want to point out that Gary Husband new 2CD is soon to be available in UK with JB as well. Greg

for duane tyler (e-mail reply doesn't work with his message):

"no answer" is a michael mantler album from the early '70s. words by samuel beckett. bruce sings it, carla bley plays keyboard & don cherry trumpet. very avant garde. if you liked michael mantler's "live" (which has a very shortened version of "no answer") you'll probably like it. but it definitely isn't for everyone, though bruce puts on an amazing vocal performance.

Wow!!! What a flashback... I really started to hallucinate when I opened this site up. I remember buying a copy of "Out Of The Storm" from the Princeton University bookstore... So many, many years ago. J.B. is still my favorite singer and musician. Remember when combining musical styles was taken seriously as an art form???

Is there anyone out there in NYC or environs that has the kind of ability, drive and taste that Ginger, Jack and Eric manifested? If so, contact me for drums. Re. Cream, I saw them at the ELECTRIC FACTORY in Philadelphia in the Spring of '68 (and later on their Farewell tour). I was jammed up against the Factory's stage, awed and inspired by what I saw and heard. Only Jimi, the Who, McLaughlin's original MahavOrch, Gil Evans Big Band, Miles and Milton Nascimento come close. I want to find people who can do that in their own way.

I was very fortunate to have seen Jack play with Kip Hanrahan in Macedonia in 1992.At the time,I was living in Belgrade and when I heard about the gig i got on to the bus and went down there to watch them play.I was numb for days.I really don`t know to say about him.I guess he is the reason why I keep playing music and I really want to thank him for those wonderful records and all the passion he has put into them.I hope you(Jack)read this and I also hope I will have the privilege to see you play in Brazil or wherever.Great page Derek.

Excellent site. I've been a Cream fan for nearly 30 years & their music is as good as ever. Yes, a reunion is a tantalising thought, but I doubt that it will come about-too much water under the bridge & all that. I don't know what NSU stands for either--the only clue is that in my school days my mates & I used to call NSU motorbikes & cars No Sodding Use-but I doubt that that's the real meaning! I think that BBM was a good CD in it's own right & there is a close resemblance to some of Cream's stuff. Hardly surprising really & Jack's unmistakeable style shows through. That's all for now, keep the comments coming!

Great Website, for a great musician. I've been a huge fan ever since "Fresh Cream" was released so many years ago. Cream was a great band! Maybe someday you three will get back together,(at least for an album.) West, Bruce and Laing was another powerhouse. That would be a great reunion as well. Great site!

I saw Jack play with West, Bruce & Lang in '72. It was great.

I hope the All-Starr band makes it to the US with its latest line-up. I've seen them play (in earlier incarnations) and the show is always fun.

Now the big question...when will Harmony Row be available on CD? My records are sooooo scratched from being played.

Best wishes to everyone,

Dear Derek There is huge bullshit campaign in Europe against bootlegs saying that it is not nice to sell recordings with any royalty for the author and intermediaries. In fact what I consider bootleg market has never been of commercial approach and rather kept in low volume for hard core fans. Why for example live recordings of Blind Faith and Cream are still not released (apart from Cream vol 1-2) and same for Jack Bruce many concerts. I am not talking about counterfeiting original cd releases which is crime, but rather keeping alive in memory great moments that are not released because of commercial reasons. I write it because I want to inform you that bootleging is now shifted to Japan and you can find geat cd at www.cyberseekers.com Kind regards Gregory

I also play bass guitar in a 70's/80's straight forward rock band and I did not believe how much of Jack's influence I can use to make the songs sound better.

Please re-fax your shipping info, or e-mail it to me at my e-mail address....OR....I expect to be in London from Sept.27-29th. If you're in the area, maybe we can meet up. I could bring a bunch of the CD's, and maybe we could discuss some other business. We're big fans of your music, and with our distribution going through Polygram/Ryko (Universal), we might be able to license a few of your solo things for US distribution. When you send me your info, let me know if you'll be around! If you need further info, call me at Renaissance... (615) 661-6598. Bye for now!

Hi Jack, great to here that you, Rodger Daltry, Billy Thorpe and others are going to open the new Colonial Statdium (Football Stadium in Melbourne) in February 2000 with a Rock Symphony.

As a 30 year devotee of your powerful music and inspirational lyrics (especially from the Cream days and more recently with BBM - Ginger Baker and Gary Moore)I look forward to seeing your concert and with any luck (other than bad luck)it would be great to meet you in person when in Melbourne.

Keep on playing great music.

Jack remains the best bass player in the world. I first saw Jack with Cream in 1967 at Keil Opera House here in St. Louis. Then In Chicago a year later on Creams farewell tour. I also saw Jack with what we used to call WBL. I have all of Jacks recordings.I used to have a big photo album but it was lost in the midwest flood in the early 90's. Ta
