Jack - everything that has been written and said about you is true. You have been and continue to be an inspiration to millions. Your music speaks in so many ways and for forty years, I have listened to your work and I am as enthralled by it now as I was when I first heard Fresh Cream as a 14 year old kid. I was fortunate enough to meet you at the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow on the occasion of your 40th birthday (your mum introduced me to you.) That will remain a highlight of my life - I imagine a bit like you meeting with Bach whom I know you respected enormously. Keep on doing it Jack `cos I and millions like me need to hear what only JB can do.

Hey Jack, I'd just like to start off by saying that you are the greatest influence on my bass playing and that the lessons that I have learned from analyzing your playing have helped me so much throughout my musical career thus far. You need to come to Edmonton, Alberta and do a show! Seeing you live would fulfill one of my lifetime musical goals. There is one thing that I recently learned and that is how you recorded a song for a James Jamerson Tribute CD with Dr. Licks, I have been searching desperately all over to find this CD to figure out which song you did but I have been unsuccessful so far. If you respond to any of these guestbook messages could you tell me what song you did? Jamerson has influenced me greatly as well as I imagine he influenced you and many other great bassists, and knowing which song had the greatest impact on you would help me understand more fully both yours and Jamerson's styles. Thanks! - Carson MacDonald

Hi JB, I am 24 years old but regardless of my fairly young age have been listening to your music for some time now. I find it free-spirited, inspiring and there is something in it that stirs my soul. Your music has enriched my life a great deal and I thank you for that. I am looking forward to seeing you play at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London later this week. I will be bringing along my 22 year old sister Karla who is yet to experience your playing. I am excited for you to educate her on how music should be played. Whatever is in the set would be great but I would love to see you play Spoonful! Many thanks. Keep happy and healthy. Ricky

Hey Jack and everybody. I am well brassed off that the Shrewsbury 'Memories Of Woodstock' festival has been cancelled. That would have been a great weekend. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikey that I could make either of the Scottish gigs or London during the week - and I so looked forward to seeing you on stage with Robin Trower. Last time I saw Trower, and met him - I asked him if he would ever do anything in collaboration with you again. I enjoyed 'B.L.T.' and absolutely adored 'Truce'. "You never know" he replied and a year or two later appears 'Seven Moons'!!! Brilliant. Can you guys not consider extending this BTH tour to take in more of the UK - rather than just either end of it? Some gigs in the Midlands and the North of England would be great. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase!!! Cheers

Dear Jack, Thaks for the show in Notodden. Nice playing. The consert place was not best possible. Starting in the midnight was a bad idea by the local organisation! People had no energy to wait that long! After the consert there were some fans running around the place, looking for the band for the autogaphs, LP-covers in hand. BUT JACK HAD GONE!!! Thank You anyway. Martti

Shepherds Bush 05Aug2009 Sorry Jack, last night was worst sound engineering I have experienced in recent years. Was just a jumble mumble of over-loud hashmash. No definition esp. in the bass, voice bad too. Expect it would've helped somewhat if you had played your Thumbbass (known for its defined sound) - I was waiting with hopefull anticipation - but you didn't so we will never know. I have waited over 40 years to see you, my first bass hero and original influence (I am a bassist too). Oh well . . . Maybe next time

I was lucky enough to be sitting in the 2nd row of the Acadamy in Glasgow on the 6th Aug, directly in front of Jack , and what a performance. Jack your singing sounded stronger than in many a year and you looked as if you were really enjoying it. The set was great one of the best gigs I have been at for along time I must thank you all very much such an inspiring show. I did notice that you were in a great deal of discomfort nearer the end of the set with presumably arthritis, you were still shit hot. Once again thank you for a wonderful night and I you hope you keep well, all the best Rob. PS have you changed out of those "LOndon claythes"yet ? Ha ha Ha !!!!!!!!

Hello Jack, Just wanted to acknowledge how great it was to see your performances in Glasgow & Edinburgh last week, along with the best guitarist in the Universe as you describe him - Robin Trower and your drummer mate Gary Husband. The three of you entralled us fans with your magnificent virtuosity for an hour and a half especially those four classic Cream songs that you included in your set list. Seven Moons is a great album and deserves being featured on this tour. Thanks for your continued enthusiastic & brilliant performances and also for Margrit's support. Greetings Jack! The sad occasion of today's passing of Les Paul -- a wonderful guy and world-class talent -- compelled me to somehow let you know how much comfort and inspiration your music has been to me. Hey, I could be gone tomorrow, and if there's one thing that I have learned from Les, it's to live life with both hands. Not meaning to make a pun, but he simply refused to give up and go away, no matter what afflictions life gave him. From his car crash which prompted him to design his own now legendary guitar so that his paralyzed arm would fit it, to the weekly gigs he performed for appreciative audiences here in New York City with fingers fused solid by arthritis, he was great to be around, just because he loved life, and music, and sharing the experience with people. That is indominable passion, and flint. I have had the privilege of seeing you perform several times through the years, and I must report to you that it was always inspirational, and encouraging. You have passion, my friend, as well as being a rare and exceptional talent. Your work with Pete Brown's poetry became so much greater than the sum of their parts...it is a form of life, a place. It is also an explanation, which other artists, if they ever do so, only achieve through much longer forms, like novels or films. You do it directly, not through a fictional character, but standing there, it comes right out of you, alive and complete, from within you. Composition is a serious art, and you add gifted theatrical performance, a rare accomplishment for any artist. Your work transports me to complete realms of real experience and meaning, through a handful of sentences, and notes. That is magic, and I truly thank you for it. Looking forward to your next shows here in the U.S., and everything you record with the great talents who know what a jewel you are, and appreciate being part of the magic which you bring...to us all. -Marko

Hi Jack, I had the great good pleasure of seeing you play with Cream, on May 7th, 1968, at the Cabell County Memorial Field House, in Huntington, West Virginia. That night "The Grass Roots" was your opening act and there couldn't have been more than few hundred of us there watching you guys play your hearts out to and for us. I also had the pleasure of seeing you few years later, with "West, Bruce & Laing", on that bands first US tour, when you opened for "Emerson, Lake and Palmer", in Athens Ohio, on April 20, 1972. I was a drummer all those years ago and I still am today, and in no small measure it is because of you and a world of improvisational playing into which you allowed me to imagine and re-imagine myself. Thank you, sir. Thank you!

Years ago I purchased Rope Ladder to the Moon. I am waiting for you to come to tour Canada(maybe in Cream)Your vocals in combo with Eric's are so rare a rhapsody in harmony and purity...flawless. You have always been my favourite songwriter and singer I love you for the pleasure you have given me.

I have some news on one of the members of a former band Jack belonged to back in 1961. This other man's name is Bill Morten. My father, who worked with Bill, thought Jack might like to know about it. Let me know if he would. Thanks

Jack, I would go anywhere in the UK to see Cream or anywhere in the North West to see you Robin and Gary. You have a Fabulous sense of "biting humour". If Robert Plant hadn't completely lost his voice; why is he working with Alison Krauss. Who was better Eric or Frank Zappa? I am joking as well, What about You Steve Winwood and Eric?

I got Fresh Cream in Brasil in 1968 or 69 and loved your stuff right away. Songs For A Tailor was my favourite of the right after Cream years. I have enjoyed a lot of your music and always look for your music. I really like your Politician done live with Rory Gallagher on YouTube.

I left a message here about a week ago, and I would like to add something to it now. An old band mate of Jack's is right now fighting liver cancer. The name he was known by in the band was Bill Barrry. I am sure any encouragement from Jack would be very helpful at this point in time.

Jack Bruce is the most revolutionary bass player ever.Since he is playing a bass guitar like electric guitar what more is to say...He is still today influentall on new bass player and piano players and harmonica as well as on guitar players. Otherwords multi instrumentalist`s :) I was wondering is it possible to see your show near this region again, will there be other shows soon? Thank you and keep doing what you do best because you are the best!!!

first i want to say Great site here. really enjoyed the lyrics section after gibrishing some of your lyrics for years..LOL we need you back Here Jack, saw you here back in 86 and 90. since the break of the internet into our lives i tried to find a song you played here in 86 which i;m not sure of it's name and i couldn't find anything about it, i suspect John maclaughlin has something to do with it it goes something like..: one with sun song one with moon.. one with the sea one with the breeze.. chorus: maybe baby you when ..... you're the one and one with you... probably mostly gibrish, but i'd love to know if i can get this one on cd..or at least know what's the name of this song... that will put 23 years of mystery to an end..

I love Jack Bruce's vocals, not only on tracks from the past like 'White Room", but also on his new albums.
