We are all excited about the May, 2005 CREAM reunion rumors buzzing about. When & where will tickets be available?!I saw Jack & Cream October 11,1968 at the New Haven Arena in New Haven,CT. To see Cream, Jack's powerful vocals, his unforgettable rendition of the blues classic "Traintime" again would be the Ultimate Event!!

Jack,

Can't help it, but the magic of "cream" is still out there. I've listened to Eric and Ginger many times but there is always something missing in their performance, and that is that spark and synergy that makes it happen for us – the fans. Hendrix said it all when he went "rogue" and played "Cream" on the beeb.

I’m still hopeful that one day you will play together one more time… If so it would be the biggest gig in the history of music.

I'm so glad that you have recovered. I'm glad I'm glad I'm glad. I am estatic that Cream will reunite. I don't know if you'll make it to O'l Beantown but one can hope. I have been a fan since I first heard the opening strains of I Feel Free. Cream was a beath of fresh air. So different and ultimately one of the few truely influential musical groups of all time. They are right up there with the Beatles. Cream did for musicianship what the Beatles did for song writing. This is not to sell Creams' (escentially you) song writing short. Though Eric went on to become such a huge international star it was you that was the brains, heart and soul of Cream. It amazes me how important the band is concidering thier short lifespan. What a band! I look forward to the cd and dvd of the concert. How stupid would it be not to produce them! I am saddened to hear of the passing of "your father" D.H.S. A great muscian. I wish you good health and a long life. Keep cranking out the great music. You are unique. Your lifelong fan Paul. PS Your autograph on a brown paper bag (it held beer previously) still hangs, framed on my wall.

Many of us often (and i'm one of it)talk about what you have done in the past, Jack. But for an artist his last "creation" "tribute" ( to music - in the case of Jack )is the most important. Listening again and again to "more jack than god" let me tell you, Jack, that this is one of the best things you have ever made. Thanks and have a good new year.

Jack, I can only echo the sentiments of all the others writing here. I was a bassist/keyboardist in'68 when I heard Crossroads from Wheels of Fire. I was never the same again.

You generated within me a freedom and spirit of adventure that has served me very well for near forty years. Everytime I plug in the EB-3 I think about what Jack would do if he were here. I am constantly aware of your ethereal presence, scrutinizing and nodding approval of my performance.

Needless to say, you have been my hero both on and off the stage. There will never be another such as you.

Congratulations in whipping the illness. No, your MD's did not know you very well. I do.

In whatever you choose to do, I pray for your happiness. May you be in Heaven a week before Lucifer hears you've passed.

With undying admiration and love, Glenn Flowers-bassist

Jack - what a trip to be posting in your guestbook. It actually makes me like the internet. Which is not easy to do.

Anyway, when I was a bad kid skipping school we used to stay up all night and listen to Harmony Row. Now I'm 46. The other night I stayed up all night listening to Harmony Row with my best friend, a 28 year old punk guitarist.

She was blown away and now she plays the record all the time - and she's the hottest guitarist in the city. There you go. It's an immortal album. I hope you read this guest book and feel good about that.

Because you are one of the only people to bring any kind of real classical music sensibility into pop recordings. No pro-rock bulls**t. It's the real deal.

Keep making records. We need 'em.

-s

jack, to make any other comments about the reunion of the cream would be redundant but I feel everyone should know the complexity of this group. I probably did more research o the cream than any other rock band and for good reason. You all had a different sound...unmatched. I always wanted to pit your band against the likes of zepplin even though styles were different. Talent has a way to come to the top (ie like cream)...hope you are doing well to really the best bass player I've ever heard. Keep ginger snapping his sticks and let eric follow you every once in awhile...later from the biggest cream fan ever...craig

Hi Jack

Its been a long time 35 years to be exact.

I knew your Mum “Betty” well, who could forget her ! obviously that’s where you got your sense of fun and lust for life. I would visit her regularly at her home in Chatham in Eastkilbride. She would give me fizzy drinks and biscuits and let me tickle your piano in the living room. She would then sit me down and play me the cassette session tapes that you would regularly send to her and ask me what I thought. I remember in particular the tapes for Hows Tricks. They were such an inspiration to me at my early age.

I remember your Dad “Charlie he was a character and a half, he and your Mum would pop over sometimes normally on new years after the bells your Dad would bring his fiddle and that would be that. I lived with my parents in Chatham across from your parents house.

You and I met on a couple of occasions the last time we spoke you had come up to chatham in your Jag SJX. I told you at the time that your music had inspired my to become a singer song writer. I will always remember your advice to me at the time “ Don’t do it for a living Paul, get a good career and keep your music as a serious hobby”

I took your advice and got a job in financial services. Im now 42 and the career that you advised me to get has come in pretty useful to feed my wife three children. However, I have continued to write and record my own stuff at home. I wouldn’t mind you having a listen to my stuff and letting me know if I am doomed to a further 25 years in financial services ! ha ha.

I was delighted to hear that you are having a a reunion with Cream as I was a little young first time around and hope to able to get a couple of tickets for the Albert Hall and bring my Son “Gregor” that would be fantastic !

Well Jack, I will close by saying that I was very sorry to hear how ill you had been last year and I am delighted that you have made such a great recovery. I have so much to thank you for, namely the original inspiration in my song writing which has been the passion of my life. I will never forget and often think fondly of the days spent with your Mum at Chatham.

My very kind regards

Paul Doyle

Hi Jack, Ok, everybody is waiting on pins and needles to hear news about the CREAM reunion, I have been waiting since '75 for it and all but gave up hope. Is there any possibility that you guys could extend tour to the "states"? I will be very satisfied to see the DVD, but, my son brought up the question "wouldn't it be the concert of a lifetime to see Cream live?" I agree, but can't afford to travel to England. Eagerly awaiting--God Bless, Jim Boettcher

Jack First of all - I hope that you're well and happy with life, which is by far the most important thing. Next: have just added to my collection of your output with Jet Set Jewel (a TRUE jewel), Songs For A Tailor (very cool and incredibly imaginative), and Doing This ... On Ice (nice and loose in parts, so a real concert - and showing how you preserve/augment the past and constantly build for the future). Thank you for your truly astonishing talent and output. I now almost have your complete output (sounds rude to me!!) with just 3 to go. Finally: the Cream reunion. Someone, somewhere is just making an obscene killing with the tickets. Hopefully you, Ginger and Eric will gain financially and musically what you rightfully deserve - but getting a ticket is now beyond a joke. 35 years on and the final Cream gigs will be rembered as much for the sell out of the true fans as for the significance of the group and its reunion. Sorry to end this mail on a down note but this just hasn't been thought through enough. Cheers all the same my friend - you remain an inspiration to many. Rob

I discovered Cream in 1969 after they had disbanded. I listened to an album called Best of Cream and my life has never been the same. I went out and bought everything Cream had produced. Brilliant. 37 years later I still love Cream.

Best song ? Hard. The first time I heard Crossroads off Wheels of Fire blew my mind. It was the first thing I put on my MP3 player.

I wonder if anyone will read this.

I was in Florida last week on vacation and while out one night we happened upon a band covering Crossroads. The guitarist was very, very good but there was something lacking in the background. Of course, that thunderous bassline, a true classic if there ever was one, much imitated but never quite duplicated, was missing! That's Jack Bruce's genuius. There's plenty of Clapton wannabees out there, and some of them aren't bad either, but there is only ONE Jack Bruce and the imitators don't even come close.

When I read (two months ago now?) that more Cream reunion shows are planned, I almost did cartwheels in my room. Thank you, and thank EC and Ginger, for doing a few mo' for those of us who didn't make it to RAH or MSG. You can be damn sure that this time I will be there to see Cream kick some serious ***.

Also, I think I said it before, I'll say it again: I hear the West Coast is in the cards this time. I hope you three will consider coming back to the San Francisco Bay Area. The Fillmore's a little small for you guys...but GOLDEN GATE PARK looks really nice.

Jack - Just a few words from yet another fan, just to say how much I've enjoyed your music over the years - both as a solo artist and with Cream etc. The Cream reunion gigs were superb and at least I can re-live the delight on the Cd and Dvd. Wishing you & yours every good health, happiness and thanks for the music mate!

Hi Jack Sorry to use this site to contact you but I have to tell you that Johnny Burch (Burchy)died on Monday 17th. I had the great pleasure of playing bass for him for the past 4 years...as you did 40 odd years ago! Please pass on to those who knew him. You can email me for more info and funeral details if you wish. Many thanks

I don't remember the exact year, but an older guitar playing friend of mine turned me on to the album "Fresh Cream". I was in a trio myself, and he said "check this out". Fresh Cream changed my entire musical outlook, approach & direction. In homage to Cream, my band's name was later changed to "Disraeli Gears". Of course we were just a local act and could have never used that name on any professional level. Still, at the teen nite clubs, high schools, private parties, etc. that we played, a lot of the people didn't know where the name came from. (It was about 1968, AM radio was still alive and well, and in Nebraska, Cream didnt get much air play.) Now when I go back to Nebraska for High School reunions, there are still a hand full of people who remember "Disraeli Gears" (my band) and comment on how ahead of our time we were. We werent ahead of our time, I had just been exposed to Jack, Eric, and Ginger, and emulated you guys as best we could. Still to this day, I never get tired of hearing "Crossroads". It's as fresh to me now as it was the first time I heard it. Thanks so much for all of the music, and may God bless you and yours Jack!

Few would know that Harmony Row is a road in Glasgow. As a Scot, I lnow that the bass appeals to the Celt in everyone. Jack, your playing is and always was totally musically fulfilling; it also has the adrenalin factor which few can find on the bass. You have inspired every generation of bass players since you came on the scene, and will for a long time yet. Thanks for that.

Dear Jack

I remember going to see Cream I think in 1966 in London (Manor House and Edmonton). I was blown away (though that phrase wasn't around at the time!) by the band - so loud and so exciting. I was also stupidly in love with you Jack (well I was 16 already) and loved your face, your voice and bass playing. Eric and Ginger faded into the background by comparison. I'm pretty sure it was pre-Disraeli Gears, so must have been the early days of Cream. Watching the Classic Album DVD and concerts brought it all flooding back and the songs are constantly bouncing around my head (esp. We're Going Wrong and Tales of Brave Ulysses). Thanks for those memories when things were awful at home but I could escape into those beautiful songs. Glad you've beaten your illness and are back as strong as ever.

Here's to you and yours, Jack

Colette

I was in Jr. High or there abouts, when I first heard Jack Bruce play bass,it really shook my whole view on music, then, I heard Cream, the way Jack's bass and Ginger's drums interplayed with Eric's guitar really made an all new plane of music, soon to be called heavy metal. That's when myself and my friends became rock and rollers. Thank you Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton for the memories, God bless to all. With respect,Max, Bobby, and all. God bless.

It was because of Jack Bruce that I started playing Bass Guitar in September 1975, and the 1st two songs I taught myself were "Sunshine Of Your Love" and "Crossroads". Thanks to Jack, I also discovered other great Bassists such as Percy Jones, Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke. I owe you an awful lot , Jack. Thank you so much for making the world stop and listen to the Bass Guitar as the beautiful instrument that it is. Long may you make music, my friend.

Hi, Happy birthday for the 14th May Jack, and many more to follow. I'm sure you will have a great day. Hard to believe that this time a year ago I had taken my first trip outside of Australia to go to London. It was something in my life I had to do. Not Just to see 2 incredible Cream concerts but to see Jack Bruce. I also met and hung out with a number of people from all around the world, that we only new each other through email over the years and The (Oz based Cuicoland Express E-Newsletter. I also had the opportunity to see the great Pete Brown perform twice and had a chat with him as well as doing a bit of roadie work for the band when they were setting up for there London Hard Rock Cafe gig. London put on it's best Autumn weather on as well for some great sight seeing. What a wonderful experience it was. I feel very privalidged. Thanks Jack and to all the special people I met.

Dear Jack, I'm 48 years old now, when I was 15, a friend took me to a cinema in a very small german town, and it was a concert-film of cream, i did not know, what expected me, until that day i had listened only to most simple germen pop music, the music of cream at first was terrible for me, i was sure, that that had nothing to do with music, but your voice and your singing and your bass-plaing, and the playing of eric clapton and the solo of ginger baker on toad brought me to music, and there is no day, i do not thank to you and eric clapton and ginger banker for this!!! Your music opened my ears for the rest of my life, and when listening later on to jazz music, i found - you! For example with Michael Mantler and so on.... Since about ten years it is my strong wish, once to organize a concert with you together with phil minton, phantastic "singer" too, i'm sure, that would be great!!! All the best, fun and good health from Hamburg!!!

Happy birthday Jack hope you and the family are feeling well.I have been a fan since i heard cream. I first saw you live at the Rainbow with WBL. Missed the mighty Cream live unfortunately but have done my best to make up for that over the following years, from bomb scares at Victoria to the heat of the Crystal palace bowl and in more recent years the Jazz cafe and Shepherds Bush(probably my favourite) and quite a few in between. Still chuckle to myself about being frisked for cameras etc going to the Jazz cafe and then being promptly tapped on the shoulder by a young japanese girl who wanted a photot taken,i was just about to tell we would both get beaten to a pulp and shown the pavement when i saw her hugging YOU!!!. Completly tongue tied i took the photo and you disappeared before i could think of something to say(typical) never got a copy of my masterpiece either. After the superb Shepherds bush show i raced down to Bournemouth to catch you at the pavillion the following night but you had to cancell. i think you left your voice at the empire,i nearly hurled myself off the pier at the news. Looking forward to seeing you again soon (with cream????)as its been almost a year since the DHS show far to long mate i need my JB fix. Hope you read this

Jack - Happy be-lated 63rd Birthday. Sorry I'm a bit late sending you wishes. Hoping all is well with you and your family and continues that way. I've been reading your biography "Jack - by Steven Myatt" finding it nice to learn more about how your career progressed. Also I just picked up the DVD “Jack Bruce at Rockpalast” from WienerWorld.com and as with all your music, I find it great and a rare treat to see you in a solo performance especially singing Tickets to Waterfalls (one of my all time favs). You’ve given me a lifetime of enjoyment from all your music and I just want to thank you for sharing it with me (and us fans). It was great seeing you in the Cream re-union although I felt you were a little laid back in your playing, almost opposite from the Cream days when your jams always seemed faster paced and like you were always trying to show EC who the boss was (not complaining at all, but I’ve seen you kick it up many times more so than the Cream show). Either way, your still the BEST and can’t wait for your next new release. Again, hope all is well and stays that way for you and your family. Allan, Methuen, MA, USA.

Dear Jack Bruce,

At 59 yrs old now, the reunion concert brought back great memories. In retirement from business I play a little guitar.Watching the joy with which you guys play adds to the amazement of the technical mastery. I like your embroidered shirts alot. Can you tell me where you have them made? Thanks for the great musicmaking.

Dear Jack; I can't begin to tell you as a longtime Cream fan how pleased I was with the band's live release of 2005. My brother and I always talked of a reunion and it really happened. I would like to see you guys do a tour of the U.S. (come to Chicago!)

Best Regards; John Tucker Carol Stream, Illinois

Jack, Just caught the reunion tour on PBS-TV. You guys STILL rock. You, Ginger, and Erik are so good together. Please pursue your solo carrears, but Please for Heaven's sake reunite once in a while. The three of you together are better than your sepperate parts. I think you're all mature enough to recognize that now (well ,maybe Erik isn't < smiling >) Jack your vocals are still as good as 30 years ago...God bless,,,keep it togetheer. The two greatest bassists in rock: Cream's Jack Bruce, and Mountain's Felix Pappalardi, had more in common than just their instruments. They had a musical connection that brought them together,on several different projects, over the years--and the fact they both played bass, and were masters of it,did not get in their way of making meaningful music,as they even performed each other's songs!....I wonder: what would have been,if Felix had lived longer,or if Jack had produced Felix' albums?...All that matters now,is that Jack is healthy, and happy, and fully recovers from his transplant!....Thanks for all the years of wonderful music,Jack: From Graham Bond-to-Manfred Mann, from Cream-to-your solo-stuff,to West,Bruce, and Laing(which is you in Mountain, instead of Felix, but it is different, while much the same). To the fans of Jack Bruce, and readers of this: listen to Jack sing Felix' song "World of Pain",then listen to Felix sing Jack's song "Theme For An Imaginary Western".Listen to Jack sing "Theme" on his first solo album, produced by Felix--or,Jack sing "World" on the first Cream album that was produced by Felix, and you'll know the beauty of song that can't be put into words here!......

To Happy Jack (belatedly) on his birthday, even Jack the Bruce! Undoubtedly, the trek from a thousand and some k's below the Arctic Circle to MSG on Oct.05 was well worth it. Seeing you and the King of Pound, Ginger Baker, the Poundmaker, together again with Sir Eric, the Royal Knight of Guitar, was the goodness of a loving God. The Creamian synergy remains. The Cream Team, individually and together, were stellar. That place was electric in the Big Apple.Exuberance was everywhere, shown by the spontaineous dancing, loud bursts of frequent applause and other joyful expressions. New York fully embraced Cream. Would I have made the nine hour trek from the tarsands city if it was just yourself or Ginger or just Eric playing? No. But seeing that potent force re-emerge, made the journey well worth it in every way to experience Cream live! At 63, Jack you have many years left yet to create and play music. The late world renowned composer and pianist, Vladimir Horowitz, absolutely nailed a most difficult piano concerto while in his late 70's. May Cream likewise flourish. The world again will then stand up and give its grateful applause - with tears and with hands clapped sorely red.

Appreciatively, John Flanagan

In expensive dear shops it is possible to order and buy original disks, but they cost stand even more expensively the present true price... I always dreamed, if not you then though musician you which works I really love and with pleasure I listen when some day will come and in my small world of the admirer you as a photo with his its autograph. But apparently it only dreams - miracles simply do not happen, and if are that only for " the elected public. But all the same, my love to music you remain with me for ever. Arrgghh!

I think maybe whatever the groups collective feelings, surely after the response from the very large and enthusiastic fan base out there, maybe the *fans* deserve more?

I hope you can pusuade the others of this.... :-)

Hello Jack, I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for your many contributions to popular music and, of course, for inspiring me to become a bass player. I have been playing the bass guitar since 1985. I first learned to play along with "I'm So Glad" from Goodbye...this is where I began my education on improvisation. I listened to Cream while everyone else was listening to Duran Duran. Currently I am the lead singer/bass player/songwriter in a Canadian power trio called Volume Water. Our website is www.volumewater.com. Thank you Jack for your voice and powerful bass playing. John Mamone

In the early '70's you were scheduled to play with Lifetime at my school in Maine (opening for the Byrds). You didn't show up and the word was that someone advertised the band as Tony Williams Lifetime and you were pissed. The Byrds were happy that you weren't there although Lifetime wasn't. Listening to your music, and reading your interviews, you sure don't seem like the egotistical a-hole everyone claimed you were. Have you changed or were they just wrong? My compliments on a very fine career. I don't hear it mentioned often, but your work on Lou Reed's album "Berlin" was so fine!

Jack:

saw the first night show at MSG '05. Cream was once again, after many years, brilliant. perhaps even a more complete trio than i saw at MSG in '68.

"songs for a tailor" and Miles Davis' "kind of blue" are my 2 favorite recordings.

i've seen 4 or 5 different versions of the Jack Bruce Band here in the states.the latest being at B.B King's in '01. you and Vernon Reed really tore it up that night!

i am 55 and although i might be too old for fan letters, i felt compelled to send this at this time.

you have given me many years of musical enjoyment

THANKS, joe

Dear MARGRIT and Jack, I'm another doting fan and drummer from way back who only wants the best for you both, and everyone else. This message isn't about music, but here's some health (life extension) news that has saved many lives: cancer cannot live in an alkalinized body. cancer feeds on and requires an acid environment to exist, period. READ THE BOOK, "THE PH MIRACLE, BALANCE YOUR DIET, RECLAIM YOUR HEALTH." (Dr. Robert 'O Young)

just google "cancer can't live in an acidic environment" http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446528099/ref=dp_nav_0/701-8869398-0300321?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=916520&s=books http://www.cancure.org/cancer_prevention.htm http://www.rainbowminerals.net/Rust/rot_rust_tour3.html

READ THE BOOK, "THE PH MIRACLE, BALANCE YOUR DIET, RECLAIM YOUR HEALTH."

One of my dreams has always been to jam with you,Jack (I love it all, from the blues to the great French group Magma and Janik Top)- but I'll settle for seeing you in good health!

READ THE BOOK, "THE PH MIRACLE, BALANCE YOUR DIET, RECLAIM YOUR HEALTH." (Get the live blood analysis done- make your body alkaline!)

The journey is just beginning! Best always, Chris

You can do it as the heart and soul of the band. God bless you and your incredible music.

Anyway, youre vocal talent is pretty amazing, and youre bass sound and lines are tough but Legendary. Sorry To Bore you, but you are my absoloute HERO, and have saved me from this alternative rock that has downtuned and simple bass lines. Finally, Please Come to PA and play i really wanna see ya play.

Peace,Joy,and Happiness, Alex

For 35 long years I have wanted to sit down with you and talk......ever since first hearing you with Cream in 68. I was 13 and couldnt get my dad to let me go see the band.........it wasnt till 70 that he started letting me go to concerts. But I have followed your career religiously all these years and finally got to see you live at MSG october 05 all three nights with Cream. You are still the master!!!

Dont know if you ever checked out the Rhino website message boards for Cream from May through October 05 before they shut it down for good, but I was a prominent member {for good or bad} and wrote a column for Jim the Manualist on his great tribute website

http://www.handmadewebsites.com/cream/

If you Jack or any members of this site would like to check out my tribute columns to you Jack, just go to the link above and click on the

Rick Miller/Ghostmojo

link on the homepage. Either way, Jims website is superb!!!!!!!!

I sincerely hope you are in good health and will tour again very soon. With whatever band you form I will be there in the audience if at all possible. Would still love to chat it up with you sometime.....in person or on the phone.

Take care Jack, and keep on crankin out material.........you have no idea how instrumental your work has been in my life and many many others as well

The Legendary Rick Miller {well, in my own mind anyway}

A remarkable Bass Player and Musician. Would you ever consider a collaboration with Jeff Beck. We would then have the best bass Player and Best Guitarist in the same band. JB would be a good name for two of the music world's Resident Genius's. Your Live work with Cream were spectacular and the old Song "The Doctor" is still one of my favorites. Godd Health to you Jack Bruce

When I first started to play bass at 15, I was your standard 1 2 3 4 player and i wasn't getting anywhere. Then my uncle turned me on to Disraeli Gears and my life and my bass playing changed forever. Thanks to Cream and your bass playing, I now am going to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts on a full bass scholarship. Also my band Revival has a record deal thanks to a A&R guy seeing us cover "Politician" at a local club. I want to thank you for inspiring me to become the player I am now.

This request is being taken very seriously and I am now asking all Jackettes for their help by sending to This email address is being protected from spambots. Dear Jack,

Some months ago I purchased the CREAM DVD from Royal Albert Hall Concerts - May 2005, and I know you Ginger and Eric went to USA October 2005 to give some concerts there ! The DVD is just great - damned good sound, too ! I have also learnt you have been seriously ill, but I hope this is a stage of the past ! I attended Cream's first concert ever in Copenhagen 1967, and for your guidance DR - Denmark's Radio recorded their first live concert ever of "popular music". The recording engineer really goofed it. You started by playing "Spoonful", and after the foreplay you lifted your beautiful powerful voice ! However, the technician had turned mixer MIC input way up, so your voice distorted. He quickly took it down to ZERO, and after about ten seconds he brought it to normal level ! Did you know that !

In 1985 you gave another concert in Copenhagen with 3 other great musicians, and you played a tune called "Ethiopia". I have looked hard for it, but could you please verify to me, if you have ever recorded this particular tune. Thank you for your help !

Well, take care - mind your health and enjoy life and your family !

Regards,

Leif S. Jakobsen

Good to see Rick Miller pitching in above. Nice words Rick - it's been a while since we spoke or contacted ... we must put that right! From one big JB fan to another - hope you are well over in WA.

We all look forward to Jack's next move. I hear something with Robin Trower might be in the offing which is really cool - must play "Truce" again ... I just love 'Shadows Touching'.

Best to everybody I know here and on the Cream sites - and especially to the man himself who continues to inspire us all.

Hi! As a professional bassist, I sincerely miss tremendously Jack Bruce's recent news. How is his health going? Has he any plans to tour Rio, this or next year? Has Margrit Seyffer, Moira Bella or someone involved with his old shows, tried to rescue old West, Bruce & Laing live footages? Please, come on! His extraordinary bass solo in Powerhouse Sod gets lost in the distant past. I cannot understand it. Jack Bruce's "persona" cannot die in Brazil, where he is very poorly known, unfortunately, "thanks" to our extremely poor press coverages of Cream and Jack's solo career. Cuicoland Express, JB with Larry Corryell...where is HIM? Please, don't be lazy, don't let his more torrential period die, and be forgotten. That is so non-sense, as would be someone ask to the world forget Jimi Hendrix. Best regards, please don't give up! Rio, august 7, 2006.

I was born in 1969, my Dad had done his best to be cool (a difficult feat for a Belfast boy) and had made his way to London a few years before I was born to see Jack Bruce. I was brought up to revere Cream unquestioningly (along with the Stones and Van Morrison and all the great black American blues guitarists). I must admit I never really caught on to the Cream thing until I bought Songs of a Tailor, which to this day is my favourite album ever. Happily I have been able to educate/forcefeed my younger brothers with the love of Cream.

Very sad to hear that Bruce Gary has passed away. I will miss Bruce greatly. He was very generous to me personally by sending a number of his personal collection photo's from the days that he was in Jacks band (which are located on the Cuicoland Express Back issues web site.) I'm sure Jack will also miss Bruce greatly as well. I only heard of his illness this week from an e-mail from his web administrator. Not knowing the severity of his illness I sent Bruce a get well card from Oz. Sadly it was sent the day he passed away. My thoughts go out to his loved ones. Dennis

Hello Jack, I'm a latter-day convert to Cream, as I was a bit young for you first time round (I was 8 when you broke up)and was introduced to the music by my husband who's older than me. He was inspired by Ginger's playing to take up drums and still plays today. I remember being amazed when I discovered that there was only 3 of you and I love the raw, impassioned sound.

I'm mad at myself that I missed your gig for the Scribbler's Picnic a couple of years back and unfortunately the gigs at the Albert Hall last year clashed with one of the kids sitting major exams. But we're hoping - fervently hoping! - that you guys will get together again and we will do what it takes to be there!!

Keep well and very best wishes to you and yours,

Jenne

The zenith of my musical career was after seeing you at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, my band, The Cat Reed All-Stars, played the month afterward. You got a roaring standing ovation when you played. I got to play may bass on the same exact spot on that stage and we got a standing ovation. It was a cheap thrill. I admire you and all your music immensely and wish you'd play at The Coach House again immediately! SO do zillions of other people! God bless you Jack!

So no, I don't "know Jack", but I do know good music and Cream made a heck of a lot of it in a very short time. Flash forward: My former boss now works for Harman (JBL). They sponsored the US leg of the Cream Reunion Concerts. He invited me from across the country because he felt it would "make my day for many a year". I went, of course, and he was right, very right, of course. Don't stop the music - Be well, Jack.

Almost 40 years later - and I am still blown away by every note...

Yo Jack,

Just wanted to thank you for all the years of great music, but most of all for being a role model to bassists everywhere. Before Jack Bruce, the bass player was NEVER the lead singer in a Rock band! "White Room" was the song that inspired me to play. Your bass style has been a big influence on my own playing as well. You always will be one of the all-time greats. I was fortunate enough to have seen the final MSG Cream reunion show; a concert for which I have been waiting 35 years! That was really a treat for all of us. Try to do it again sometime if you're up to it. I salute you Sir, one of my musical heroes! Long may you rock! George Gelish http://www.georgegelish.com http://www.rockslideband.com

Hi Jack, I would just like to thank you for your music and your bassplaying. They have influenced me to both become a bassplayer (7 years ago) and create my own style. Your live Cream recordings are what I base a big part of my playing style on. I aspire to have the same impact on other bassists that you have had on me. You are truly the most influential person in my whole musical career and I want to thank you for that, without Cream I might still be a rythm guitarist or some other thing. Thanks again!

Just wanted you to know how important you are in our lives. Your music has been the part of my life and the lives of my kids born 1972,1976,1977,1981,1995,and 2001. My grandchildren from the first four hear it too!! I saw an article about Ginger Baker where he stated he had done all of this for nothing. Show him this letter and see the children he has influenced along with you of course.

Hi Jack,

A long time fan since Graham Bond days - your compositions had an enormous effect on me when I was younger living in Nairn. I revel in your bass playing, its so familiar to me I feel I know what you are going to play next...it just seems so natural. Eric taught me to play the guitar - from tapes I made from records on the radio, slowed down so I could pick out the notes...and your moving bass lines just seemed so right - congratulations on staying alive and still creating great music...I would love the opportunity to play with you ! Yours aye Alan

Jack, I, like the other writer must admit that as a kid listening to Cream ( I am 44 now)I thought it was all Eric. later I learned just who did most of the writing and singing - boy was I floored! Well chock another one up to a stupid kid. I have really grown to appreciate your tremendous talent; in Cream and later on your own or with others. I don't know if your're very religious but I feel that sometimes when I listen to music I get this feeling that can probably best be described as: spiritual, inspirational, religious....whatever. I find this happens a lot with your music, even the heavier Cream songs. Basically I'd like to say thanks for that. For whatever it's worth I think that Cream had something special, magical even, something that is not often seen. In my humble ( and overly critical opinion) none of you have accomplished separate anything close to what you have acomplished in Cream and yes that means Eric too. Millions of fans would just love to see a new Cream recording! Isn't worth a try?

Nice to see your post Rick (Miller). Must get in touch soon.

Whoever mentioned Jack Bruce and Jeff Beck together was repeating something I have long thought would be a great idea. Eric aside - I cannot think of another guitarist so suited to playing with Jack especially with the shared jazz background.

Please consider doing something with Jeff, Jack. I'm sure such a union would be highly successful. With a suitably jazzy drummer like Bill Bruford for example, that would be a winner of a band.

Thank you so much for all you've given us; your music has changed my life for the better and made me the maverick that I remain. Here's wishing you and your family good health and good fortune.

Servus, Jack,

I celebrated my birthday on Sunday, and my wife allowed me to get all the new CD and DVD stuff. She's a bonnie lassie!

This may be expensive, but why not eat Schinkennudeln for one, two or sixteen weeks?

By the way: Deutsches Museum in Munich in the early eighties or so was great. You wore a weird blue and red shirt without sleeves.. Chris Spedding, John Marshall. Who else?

What a pity that - at 54 - I'm still too young to have ever seen Cream.

"Sitting On Top Of The World" we used to play in our amateur Blues Band - and "The Doctor", because some of our 150 regular fans wanted to hear this one, but I could only play Leslie West's slide guitar intro. The rest of the band wouldn't join in. Too heavy, they said. I often tried to introduce the Politician, too. Same result. It wasn't bluesy enough, the said.

Thanks for long, long hours of listening to your music, especially on the road. I'm looking forward to enjoying the new discs.

I also asked about your concert here in 1985 with 3 other fine musicians at Scala Concert Hall (I believe), where you played a tune called "Etheopia" - if you have ever recorded this tune ? If affirmative please inform me of record label and number !!!

How are youy coping with your illness ?

Jack, Saw the reunion at Alberts. (DVD) While I ended up a guitarist, (32 years now), I want you to know that since the beginning (Cream), YOU were the driving force. Eric is great, and Ginger is commical, both accomplished musicians, but what you did durring that period was so damn innovative! Most people, (guitarists especially), are captivated with Erics lead in Crossroads. I on the other hand, was listening to the bass lines (immagine that!), and was floored with what you came up with! I thought, (and do to this day), that your vocals are stronger and more soulfull than most. It was very generous of you to say to the audience, what an honor it was to be playing with Eric and Ginger, and I am shocked that Eric (as humble as he is), didnt say the same about you. Just so you understand.......I think you're the man! Good luck to you and Margrit, never stop being creative, and above all, THANK YOU for inspiring people like me.

The first song I ever performed live in front of a large audience was a variation of 'cats squirrel' off Fresh Cream. I have been playing harmonica since '68. Train time is still one of my favorites. I work with drummer Mike Welch who uses the QUADRAGRIP TECHNIQUE. We lay tribute to Jack and Ginger at every one of our performances. I have followed Jack's career since Fresh Cream and hope he continues to excel.

Hi Jack . I just watched the DVD Cream at the Albert Hall . I liked the whole DVD but the song that made the hair on my arms stand up was We're Going Wrong. I've been playing Blues, Jazz and R&B for 42 years. During this time there have only had a few occassions where a song has reached inside my chest and made my heart ache like this song did. This song and your vocal performance was definatley one of those moments. The trials, pains and losses you have experienced in your life flowed out of your soul throught your mouth and and directly into the place where I hide my lonley thoughts that I don't show others. For any musician it doesn't get any better than that. Thanks for the inspiration .

Jack, I think you are the best Singer in the rock N' roll world of singers.(which is all I care about for singing) Plus you play the bass guitar so amazingly. I've always been a conniseur of the bass and later the guitar, since my older brother introduced me to THE CREAM back in 81' when I was 11. I always wanted, and tried to make rock bands over the years but they never lasted to long and friends moved away etc. Even though I became a good auto mechanic, I still play my guitar or bass along to the sound of Ginger,Eric and you.The almighty Cream and it takes me back to jamming with my brother back in the good old days. The CREAM will never die in the hearts and minds of it's fans. God Bless you and see you in heaven with the lord some day.

I was listening to your original studio recording of Morning History, and was amazed with your incredible command of the bass's whole neck and at-ease fingering, specially with the song coming to the end. Cool, solid as Everest Mountain playing. The Old Grey Whistle Test of 1975 was great, too. You was superb in all songs; your bass solo in Smiles And Grins was evocative. I love this song, it is touching, so deep...Congratulations again for your appearance at the Frankfurt jazz Festival.Cheers, Carlos Bill.

Stumbled on your official homepage by pure chance, if such a thing exists. For what it's worth, I just wanted to let you know that I've been a great admirer of your sheer prowess on the bass and the innovative vigor of your melodic sense since I was a lad of 18 living in a small Malaysian town named Batu Pahat (I was the only longhair in Paisley bellbottoms then :-) I'm now a proud grandparent of four and, after all these decades, "Ministry of Bag" still speaks loud and clear to me! Indeed, SONGS FOR A TAILOR is one album I'm absolutely glad to own on CD. Now I just went shopping for the Disraeli Gears DVD - and found it was SOLD OUT! Shucks... have a heap of hugs on me, Mr Bruce! Long live! And give my fondest regards to Pete Brown (who might be tickled to know some teenaged mutant in Malaysia was really turned on by his words and once had almost every Piblokto! album in existence)

Keep up the inspiration... We love ya!! Look forward to seeing you play again.

Jack, Been a fan since I first hear the opening riff to "Sunshine of Your Love" as a 14yo kid in Newcastle NSW. I suddenly discovered there was more to msic than my Mum's Tijuana Brass album. Any thoughts about a tour Down Under? Cheers, Peter

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, december 5, 2006--A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Jack Bruce, for you, your wife, family and music. It is meaning that you continue playing after having created so many classic bass solos and grooves. Powerhouse Sod is this superb model of inspiration for millions of players worldwide: the feedbacks, the distortion, the torrential control over all the musical elements, it's all there. I sincerely feel very strange and frustrated because no record label released a live DVD of West, Bruce & Laing with such a setlist, such as in Live'n'Kickin' days. But, who knows? We all wish a live DVD of your performance at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival. And...well, you see, my e-mail changed. Thank you very much. Carlos Bill.

Is there any prayer that the 2-disc album Heavy Cream will be re-released? I want to give a copy to my 13-year old nephew, and so far it looks like I have to make my own copy off my old LP, with all the scratches included.

Hello, I don't have any images right now, it is a brown round circle impression with a bird off to the right, about 18 inches wide 2 feet long. I was at Gail Collins estate sale, she talked about all the good years and lot about her fastlane life including she had cancer and was heading to Mexio to get some treatment and live a few more months, she liked my son and give him this piece of art. We have had it for a few years now, Gail signed it with this info on a piece of paper:

Presented to Felix pappalardi & Gail Collins 1968, New York City from Eric Clapton - following the completion of "Dasraeli Gears" LP at Atlantic records. She goes on to say that the art was given to them at a dinner party at their residences.

I was (just got on line) going through WEB sites hoping someone could help me out?

but I have no idea what this art is, I thought about writing Eric Clapton (how?) to see if he could remember it, how to go about this ?

Buffalo, New York, December 10, 2006: Hi! I'm a totally lover of Jack Bruce's music and bought, during a travel to Stuttgart, Germany, a very interesting music review where there is published a statistically concise matter telling of 26,000,000 of people, fans of Jack's music since Graham Bond Organization, eager to buy West, Bruce & Laing's old 70s concerts. Millions of fans everywhere cannot be wrong! Cheers, Jimmy.

December 10 2006: Cheers for Jack and everybody! News here, such as Clarin, are telling of the wonderful move of some record label edit old concerts, rarities of Cream at their peak. Millions of fans worldwide ask for it since Cream disbanded in 1968, believe me. The newspapers told that, musicians tell that; the fire and speeded up Jack's fingerings are an ABSOLUTE MUST to be SEEN. Please, give millions of people a chance! Congratulations, Julio Antiagas. And...where is the October 2005 Madison Square Garden's Cream concert in DVD and CD?!

Hello Jack

From your cousin sandra, (aunty mary's daughter)...

your late aunt. do you remember buying margo hair lacquar when i was 14 and playing my face, because i had no hairspray, that was way back in your early days, when you lived at ours for a short while before you made it, sorry to hear of your liver cancer, lost my husband the same year 2003, he was the pioneer for liver transplant patients in cell linage, for people with liver cancer. his sister donated her cells to help save his life, sadly it was enough, he passed away november 11, 2003, but i am glad you made it through

Love and best wishes from your cousin Sandra Evans Bruce Brockington

Hi Jack

Although I have been a fan of yours for years I have recently been listening to loads of your solo,BBM and cream stuff. I was luck enough to see you at the barrowland and the Fruit Market in Glasgow. At the Fruit market gig my dad who has always claimed to have known you-Doesn't everyone from Glasgow-Said i will get you back stage to meet you!! "Yeah Yeah dad" But bold as brass he goes up to the security and gets him and I back stage!!! As we walk in you shout out !" I used to clean windows with that guy" I was truly a magnificient experience and one i will never forget. I know that your mum used to live in East Kilbride and my dad used to visit her from time to time. I know that your mum passed away and to let you know my gran passed away this year aged 90. My dad is doing fine and still plays your music from time to time. He is more of a Country and western type of guy.

Keep well and for all the great tunes we are all truly grateful

Your website has and is such an encouragement to my family. I use to be a CCM music leader, but not any longer. The Lord has led our family out. It had been very painful and isolating but the Lord had strengthened our faith. There were times when we nearly gave up. Thank you very much for your articles and videos. The Lord bless you.

Amos and Anne.

As most of your fans must think, I'm still dreaming of getting another chance to see you play live in the Boston, MA (USA) area and always welcome to new material. With so many GREAT albums (CD's) and so many GREAT shows, I can never get enough. Thank you again for all the enjoyment you given me through your music which can never be measured. Jack, Just had the pleasure of seeing your Cream Reunion Concert - Live at the Royal Albert Hall in May 2005. The concert was replayed on New Years Eve in Sydney on ABC TV, 31st December, 2006 Fantastic it brought back my youth listening to such wonderful rock classics and I have just checked out what was available thru Google on Cream and Jack Bruce, hence me visiting this website. Best Wishes for 2007 Steve a loyal fan.
