Two new albums are due for imminent release. The first is Jack Bruce with the HR Big Band, featuring versions of Jack performing songs old and new arranged for the wonderful German orchestra of Hessische Rundfunk. Jack's college, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, will issue Jack an honorary doctorate on 3 July.  The Academy has opened "The Jack Bruce Zone", a performance space for students, in his honor.

Jack's DIARY has been updated with a new entry regarding Bruce Gary.

Jack has posted a message in his online DIARY regarding the tragic death of Bruce Gary. 

Drummer Bruce Gary, best known for his work with The Knack ("My Sharona"), has lost his battle with lymphoma.  Over the years Bruce and Jack collaborated on several projects.  He can be heard on a number of Jack's recordings, including Automatic, Live on the Old Grey Whistle Test, Live '75.  He also appears on the DVD Jack Bruce at Rockpalast.  Bruce was 54 years old.

Jack is to perform with the Hessischer Rundfunk Big Band at the "German Jazz Festival Frankfurt", the oldest currently running jazz festival in the world, on 26 October, under the title "More Jack Than Blues".  More details are forthcoming.

Eagle Rock Entertainment have released a new DVD edition of Disraeli Gears, including live footage, interviews and solo performances - including a solo piano performance of We're Going Wrong by Jack. 

 

Cream is to receive a special Grammy Award in Los Angeles on 7 February.  Other recipients will include David Bowie and blues legend Robert Johnson. 

Jack and Pete Brown were honoured by BMI Records on 29 November at the Dorchester Hotel for two million radio plays of their 1968 hit White Room.

Jack was interviewed by Bass Player magazine's Chris Jisi regarding Cream's reunion concerts, and is featured on the cover of December's issue.  The paper edition also features transcriptions of some of Jack's playing.

A new double-DVD of three Jack Bruce concerts at Germany's Rockpalast is now available for order.

After much anticipation, Cream are coming to New York in October!  The trio will play three nights only at Madison Square Garden.   Tickets will go on-sale first to American Express cardmembers through a special pre-sale, beginning Monday, September 12th at 9am.
